6KC have had a fantastic first term packed full of exciting experiences, brilliant learning and memorable moments!

Our History learning has taken us back in time to the Tudor period. We enjoyed an exciting trip to Tudor World, where we discovered more about life in Tudor times, including crime and punishment. We also explored the world of William Shakespeare and his famous plays. To celebrate everything we had learnt, we welcomed parents into school for our very own Tudor exhibition, where we proudly shared our hard work and fantastic projects.

In Science, we became nature detectives during a visit to the forest, where we searched for and classified different invertebrates. We also carried out an investigation into mould growth, exploring the fascinating world of microorganisms as part of our Living Things unit. We have loved investigating, asking questions and discovering more about the world around us!

There has been plenty of fun and teamwork in PE, too. During our Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA) lessons, we developed our communication and teamwork skills while taking part in orienteering challenges. We also enjoyed learning how to play tennis, including how to score points, before putting our new skills to the test in an exciting Year 6 inter-house tennis tournament!

In Maths, we have made fantastic progress through our place value, multiplication and division units. We have also been developing our problem-solving skills and learning how to use the order of operations, known as BODMAS, to solve calculations accurately.

Our creativity has shone through in English, where we have produced some lovely writing inspired by the books Skelligand The Viewer. These fascinating stories have sparked our imaginations and helped us develop our descriptive writing skills.

What a jam-packed term it has been! From stepping into the past and exploring the natural world to tackling mathematical challenges, improving our sporting skills and letting our imaginations run wild, 6KC have worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of everything they have achieved.

We cannot wait to see what exciting learning and adventures the next term will bring!
