We are all very excited about our exciting topics we have planned for this year:

• Term 1 – Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion
• Term 2 – The Dragon Machine
• Term 3 – The Three Wolves and The Big, Bad Pig
• Term 4 – The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch
• Term 5 – The Pirate Cruncher
• Term 6 – The Bear and the Piano

Each week please ensure to read as much as you can with your child and remember to practice their spellings and timetables too. By the end of year 2 children are expected to know the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Your child will bring home a reading scheme book and a reading for pleasure book. Children can change their books as soon as they have read them.

Each term we will also add a 'Homework task' to Class Dojo and the website. Please keep an eye out for this as there are lots of fun activities for the children to do at home that link to our topics.

Please ensure your child's P.E kit includes a white t-shirt, shorts, jogging bottoms and trainers. Some of our PE lessons will take place outside so you may wish to add a hoodie or jumper to their PE kit. Your child’s PE kit should be in school everyday as we often have opportunities to take part in extra PE lessons and workshops.

Please ensure that you send your child with a coat and water bottle every day too. Please make sure ALL items are clearly labelled.
