3/4SW had a very successful Term 2.
In English, we read The Barnabus Project, which inspired the children to create a classroom maze using tables and chairs. They worked collaboratively and demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills.
The Ancient Egypt topic was greatly enjoyed. The children took on the role of Howard Carter, exploring Tutankhamun’s tomb and writing diary entries about their discoveries, including key historical facts. As part of this topic, they also developed their drawing skills, focusing on sketching, tone, and texture, particularly when drawing the pyramids.
In Science, we investigated the effects of different liquids on eggshells to model the impact on teeth, with the vinegar experiment proving especially interesting.
Our PE fitness topic kept everyone active, with a focus on changing direction quickly and effectively.
We ended the term with festive activities, including a Christmas party, Christmas dinner, and Christmas jumper day.
We look forward to starting Term 3 and our new Rule Britannia topic.
