It’s not often we get to meet our heroes!
Towards the end of the period of remote learning, in our nursery, we were visited virtually by a nurse, a police officer, an animal charity worker, and a firefighter. It was really interesting to learn about what they do to help us every day!
Each visit was really inspiring, and our day’s play was based on the visit. Children made police and firefighter ID badges, put out chalk fires with spray bottles, rescued toy animals, handed out ‘speeding tickets’ to those cycling too fast, made doctor’s hats, and learned about how to care for pets!
It’s great to see our nursery children learning from experience and also building up an idea of social responsibility from an early age.
We’d like to thank all our visitors for giving their valuable time to teach our nursery children. It’s really important for children in early years to learn about the world around them, and how we all rely on each other to keep everyone safe.
