Moredon Primary & Nursery For Parents

School Uniforms

The governors, staff, and parents/carers fully advocate a uniform policy for the children of Moredon Primary and Nursery School. We believe that a school uniform helps pupils to see themselves as part of a community that is proud of itself and its reputation.

Please note that there is a strict no trainers policy. If your child has to wear alternative footwear for any reason, a note must be sent to their class teacher and new shoes must be bought as soon as possible.

*All official items of school uniform bearing the school logo can be purchased online from the school’s official uniform supplier, Michael Hope. PE bags and book bags, as well as other uniform items that display the school logo , are also available from Michael Hope.

Trousers, skirts, shirts, and polo shirts can be purchased from high street shops where they are cheaper.

PE Kit

All children will be expected to bring a suitable PE kit to school each week. This should consist of:

  • Plain dark shorts or tracksuit/jogging bottoms.
  • Plain T-Shirt
  • Daps or trainers.
  • A named drawstring bag to store these items in.

We suggest that foundation stage 2 and key stage 1 pupils also bring a change of underwear to school with them.

Additional Notes

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum. It is fine to wear jewellery due to a religious belief.

Earrings should be small stud earrings. Hoop earrings are not allowed as they are a risk during PE lessons and at playtime.

Nail varnish and makeup are not permitted in school, unless with the express permission of the principal.

If, for cultural reasons, parents wish their child to wear a particular type of clothing during the school day, this is absolutely fine. Examples include a turban, headscarf, or a PE kit that includes longer length trousers.
