This week we have started our new book called Whatever Next.
We have our roleplay set up as a space station and the children are enjoying taking off in the rocket. This week we have also started yoga which we all really enjoyed. We will be doing it for every Wednesday for the rest of the term.
This week we have begun to learn the actions to tell the story Whatever Next. We have also been planning the story on a story map ready to write it next week. We had a lovely welly walk where we looked for things growing in our environment and found lots of daisies and dandelions.
In Maths we have been learning to group and count in 2s, 5s and 10s and some of us had a go at writing in 2s, 5s and 10s too! For our creative activities we have been making rockets from paper shapes and painting space pictures. It has been a very busy week.
This week has been a lovely learning week, the children are writing the story of Whatever Next and learning how to estimate before counting.
Yoga this week was based on flying animals and the yoga teacher commented on how well the children doing.
The photo’s this week our linked to our Fine Motor Sessions which we do every day. These session help the children to make their fingers strong to help control their pencil for writing.
This week in Reception we have been writing the story Whatever Next and practising using our sounds and story actions.
In Maths we have been learning to use Mathematical language and say what we can see in pictures.
We have enjoyed the nice weather and had fun playing in the sand pit and mud kitchen.
We have also been very creative making rockets from junk and talking about our designs and how we can improve them.
