This week the children have been learning to story map the story 'We're Going on a bear Hunt'.
The children know the story so well and have enjoyed using their story maps to retell the story using actions too. In maths this week the children have been learning to match Numicon pieces and counters on tens frames to number cards to 15. They have also been learning to order Numicon pieces to 15 and say how many tens and ones they can see.
In their child initiated learning, the children have been painting and drawing settings from the story and they have been acting out the story in our role play area. In the outdoor area, the children have been fascinated by the ice in the water trays and have been exploring why ice has formed and what ice is.
In their creative learning this week, the children have made salt dough bear faces which they loved making! Once they are baked and dry, we plan to paint them next week.
Don't forget that next Friday (31st January) is our Young Carers Awareness Day so please send your child into school with odd socks on.
Cecily was chosen to receive the Kindness award this week . Well done!
