We have had a busy first week back!
We visited the garden centre and brought back some nice plants to plant out in our outdoor area. We bought runner bean seeds and have planted them into a pot each, ready to watch them grow and we had a visit from Jack and the Giant! We learned that the giant wanted to say sorry for selling Jack’s cow and he came down the beanstalk to find Jack. After the beanstalk was chopped down, he couldn’t get back up to his castle so we built him a new on Welly Wednesday.
In our second week of term, we have started to learn more about minibeasts. We have read the story of the Hungry Caterpillar and have had our own special delivery of caterpillars and ladybird larvae! We have been making caterpillars with playdough and using seeds to make different minibeasts pictures too.
We’ve been learning all things bugs this week!
We’ve made bugs out of playdough and thought carefully about counting legs. Our ladybird larvae is beginning to change as our caterpillars.
We have been making butterfly patterns in lots of different ways and making caterpillars with circles too.
This week we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Zoo Lab.
Georgie told us a fantastic story about her adventure through the rainforest and we met some animals along the way. We were lucky enough to touch a Cockroach, Millipede, Snake and a Snail. We were allowed to look at the Tarantula and the Frog. We learned a lot about how they breathe and the different parts of their bodies.
This week we have loved going on a jungle safari and looking for animals both big and small. On Welly Wednesday we liked looking for bugs and then caring for them.
