Moredon in the Community
We strongly believe that our children should be able to take part in activities involving members of the wider community. Here are some of the more recent activities that children from the school have taken part in.
Happy Shoes Day!
Well done to all the children who took part in our fundraising with Happy Shoesday. We’ve had shiny shoes, decorated shoes, funky laces and light up shoes, gorilla feet, colourful pumps and trendy trainers.
Look at all our Happy Feet!
Why join in?
A generation ago 70% of us walked to school, now that figure is less than half. Walking just 20 minutes in the morning is proven to make children healthier and happier as well as refreshed and ready to learn, and walking dramatically reduces congestion around the school pavements and gates.
Thanks to your generosity we have raised £145 for the Living Streets campaign.
Your donations help Living Streets run Walk to School campaigns in schools across the UK, getting more children and families happier and healthier through the benefits of walking and improving street safety, pollution congestion and air pollution for everyone.
Did you know Living Streets was responsible for introducing the zebra crossing across the UK?
Red Nose Day
Well done to everyone at Moredon Primary and Nursery school for raising over £800 for Red Nose Day!
Children in Need
Thank you to the children, parents, carers and staff of Moredon Primary and Nursery School. Thanks to your generosity we raised £448 for Children in Need on Friday 14th November 2014.
Pearly Kings and Queens
Well done to all the children who came to school in all their finery on Thurday 2nd October to celebrate our Pearly King and Queens Day. The playground was awash with buttons and sequins of all shapes and sizes, as our newly crowned Pearly King and Pearly Queen, led a whole school parade out onto the field.
All children who had a hot dinner on Thursday 2nd October were automatically entered into our prize draw to win a family hamper. Congratulations to the Garrat-Lancashire family who won a box full of delicious treats. A very big thank you to Tesco’s Community Champion, Michelle Hobbs, who kindly donated the yummy treats that were in our hamper.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Orange Star in their first fundraiser for this academic year. We raised an amazing £212.96 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Delicious cakes, breakfast pastries and bacon rolls were enjoyed by all. Junior Wardens – Tree planting at Moredon and Rodbourne Cheney Library Community Garden,
